Abstract

Most of the endodontic lesion is associated with the main canal system formed around the main apical foramen, so main canal bacteria reduction is needed for successful root canal treatment. However, the lesion around lateral canal in some cases, the success of the treatment depends on the treatment of bacteria in lateral canal. In a patient that have occurred acute apical periodontitis, lesion formed around the lateral canal on his premolar was observed. Root canal treatment was performed with lateral canal, but the main canal could not be approached because of the calcification. After treatment of accessible lateral canal, the patient¡¯s symptoms was disappeared.
